As noted earlier Computing clouds are categorized into public and
private clouds. There is another category of cloud called Community Cloud.
A community cloud is established where several organizations have similar requirements and seek to share infrastructure so as to realize some of the benefits of cloud computing. For example various departments of Government may choose to have their own community cloud. With the costs spread over fewer users than a public cloud (but more than a single tenant) this option is more expensive but may offer a higher level of privacy, security and/or policy compliance.
Examples:
- Indian Government may create a community clouds for Health and welfare departments of all Indian states.
- RBI ( Reserve Bank of India) may create a community cloud for all financial institutions.
- Another Example of community cloud include Google's "Gov Cloud
