Cloud paradigm offers computing resources to user via Internet. A general user from any where in the world can access a cloud resources such as SaaS or IaaS. Such a cloud service that is available for general user via web is called public cloud. It is similar to public telephone or transportation service. However, an Enterprise can create and sustain a cloud service mechanism for its internal use. It is similar to having an intercom within a company or having company owned vehicles. Such a cloud service system designed and deployed for the internal use of an enterprise or a company is called Private Cloud. Since organizations employs hundreds of people, cloud system mus distinguish between them and allow them to access service that are relevant to them. In other words, private clouds need security tools to grant and control access to different category of users within an enterprise.
To address this need, VeriSign has come out with a new security tool for private clouds. It has launched Extended Validation SSL ( EVSSL), a security certification solution that displays a green bar on the browser to indicate users the legitimacy of the site. In addition, another tool VeriSign identity protection (VIP) for enterprises and cloud customers - is capable of generating dynamic passwords to be provided along with login-in-information.
