Yahoo establishes Cloud Computing Lab at IIT, Mumbai

Yahoo has established a cloud computing cluster facility at IIT, Mumbai. The installation would offer students and faculty first practical understanding of of Hadoop, which is one of the widely used cloud computing system. This installation provides researchers to scale up their research on translation on web, analytics of data which demands huge computing power. Currently Hadoop is becoming a defacto standard for cloud OS. Yahoo as a company uses Hadoop both internally and also contributes towards its development. Many of its applications are built around Hadoop.
