A New Wireless Web Access Mode Based on Cloud Computing: Yunpeng Xiao Yang Tao Qian Li

As most websites are designed for desktop PCs, it is extremely uncomfortable to browse these large pages on a wireless handheld device with small screen and limited user interface. So it is necessary to adapt these web pages to small screen devices. Besides, as the limited computing ability and capacity of storage of wireless handheld devices, it is also extremely challenging to deploy existing web page adaptation engine. By referring to huge computing ability and storage resource of cloud computing infrastructure, a new wireless web access mode is proposed. Firstly, the system framework is present. Subsequently, the two key components of system are described in detail: the one is distributed web page adaptation engine, which is designed for the purpose that the engine can be carried by computing cloud distributed and parallel; the other is distributed web page blocks management based on cloud computing, which is proposed so that the web page adaptation engine can be deployed reasonably. Moreover, a prototype system and a set of evaluation experiments have been implemented. Complete paper is accessible here

My name is Paola Garcia Juarez, and I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Computer Science at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). The main idea of my master thesis is to evaluate the degree of trust and security of a CC network, in order to choose the ideal Cloud Computing network according to user`s requirements (they could variate according to the kind of project or needs of the user in one specific time).

Readings in Cloud Research: Dynamic Load-Balanced Multicast for Data-Intensive Applications on Cloud

Data-Intense parallel applications on cloud need to deploy large data sets from the cloud's storage facility to all compute nodes as fast as possible.  Dynamic Load-Balanced Multicast for Data-Intensive Applications on Cloud  by Chiba  et.al, proposes two high performance multicast algorithm focused on Amazon's EC/S. These algorithms makes it possible to efficiently transfer large amounts of data stored in Amazon S3 to multiple Amazon EC2 nodes. The algorithms are evaluated and shown to be scalable and consistently achieving high throughput.

Readings in Cloud Research: Multi-Tenant SOA Middleware for Cloud Computing

Multi-tenancy is a development principle in software architecture where a single instance of the software runs on a server, serving multiple client organizations (tenants). This has been in practice since days of mainframe computing. However the advent of cloud computing and consequent need to optimize the resources by the cloud-providers has opened new research challenges in multi-tenancy domain. In " Multi-Tenant SOA Middleware for Cloud Computing" the the researchers Afkham et.al present an architecture for achieving multi-tenancy at the SOA level, which enables users to run their services and other SOA artifacts in a multi-tenant SOA framework as well as provides an environment to build multi-tenant applications.
