It is easy to get information, difficult to get answer
View or comment on Ravindra Dastikop's post »One of the criticism against using web as a platform for educational assessment is that student google and get the answer. But it is not so. In a recent assessment test, one of the questions was " what is the form of IP (Intellectual Property) that protects Google's search engine technology. Most students had written as " copyright", in fact the answer is "Patent". When I asked them, how did they arrived at that answer they said, they googled, went to homepage of Google and noticed copyright symbol at the bottom of page and concluded that it must be copyright. There was a saying in the early days of computing. " Computers are as good as the person sitting in front of it. So bottom line is Google is as intelligent as the person using it. |
